West Covina

West Covina: Because Sometimes, the Fresh Start You Need Is One Zip Code Away

You’re in West Covina looking for affordable sober living. Perhaps you’ve undergone treatment and are trying to stay on the path.

At Puente House Sober Living right here in Covina, we’re technically just across the border, but close enough that if you hit a good green light streak on Azusa Avenue, you’ll be at our front door before your Spotify playlist hits the chorus.

West Covina has the mall, the movie theater, and the glorious madness that is Porto’s Bakery on a Saturday morning.

But over here in Covina, we’ve got our charm, and it’s a little quieter, a little slower, and a lot more recovery-friendly.

We’ve got legit peaceful parks like Covina Park and Kahler Russell Park, walkable streets along Citrus Avenue, and some of the best mom-and-pop tacos east of East L.A. (Ask any local where to find the best burrito and you’ll get ten answers—but they’re all good.)

Covina offers a small-town, big-community vibe. It’s where people say “hi” when you pass them on the sidewalk and where your favorite recovery meeting might be in the same church your abuela used to go to. If you’re trying to stay clean, stay grounded, and stay sane, this is the spot.

Real Recovery, Real Structure, Real People—Without the Hollywood Price Tag

“Affordable sober living” in L.A. County is like finding a parking spot at Plaza West Covina during the holidays, technically possible, but often feels like a miracle.

At Puente House, we’re not trying to cash in on your comeback story. Our sober living homes in Covina are structured, supportive, and, get this, budget-friendly. We’ve cut out the fluff, the hidden fees, and the “luxury” label that usually means you’re just paying extra for a fancier Keurig.

Our homes are clean, safe, and community-centered. We offer separate men’s and women’s houses, all built on the same foundation: accountability, structure, and support. No mystery roommates. No 14-person bunk rooms. No BS.

You get shared living spaces that are comfortable, a house culture focused on growth, and peer support that doesn’t stop when the house meeting ends. Yes, Wi-Fi’s included.

A Day in the Life

Morning: Wake up in a clean, quiet home. Sip your coffee, read something inspiring, and head out for work or a meeting.

Midday: Maybe it’s therapy, a class at Mt. SAC, or a shift at your new job. You’re making moves.

Evening: Come home, check in, share dinner with the house, and unwind with your recovery fam over some solid conversation (or maybe a little Netflix, we’re human, after all).

FAQ

What if I’ve relapsed before?

That doesn’t disqualify you. It just means you’re human. Many of our residents come in after one or more relapses. What matters is that you’re ready now.

Is this just for women?

No, we have two private homes for men and one for women. Our West Covina homes are safe and supportive for your unique experience.

Can I work while living here?

Absolutely. We encourage it. Most of our residents work or go to school while staying with us. In Baldwin Park, or wherever.

Do you require 12-step meetings?

We’re big believers in support. While we’re not officially tied to any one group, we highly encourage participation in AA, NA, SMART Recovery, and similar programs.

How do I apply?

Simple. Call us or fill out our online form. We’ll walk you through it all.
