San Dimas: Why Covina Works for San Dimas Residents in Recovery
Welcome to Puente House, located just a short cruise down the 210 in Covina.
I’m Karl, and I run Puente House Sober Living. We’re not Malibu rehab. We’re not a halfway house with mystery stains on the carpet.
We’re real people in real recovery offering structured, supportive, and affordable sober living homes right here in Covina, just a stone’s throw from San Dimas.

We have a strong recovery community, access to dozens of AA and NA meetings, and peaceful neighborhoods such as Covina Hills.
Local landmarks like Covina Park, Charter Oak High, and Citrus Avenue make you feel like you’re part of something again.
Sober Living That’s Structured, Supportive—and Affordable
“Affordable sober living” in L.A. County sometimes translates to “crowded house with no toilet paper and a mystery roommate named Lizard.” That’s not our vibe.
At Puente House, we maintain a clean, calm, and community-focused environment. We offer structure because most of us didn’t exactly master it, and we offer accountability with a side of compassion.
Our homes are intentionally designed for recovery: shared spaces that foster connection, bedrooms that feel restful, and rules that keep the chaos out and the healing in.
We have two men’s sober living houses and one quiet, safe women’s sober living house.
You’ll find Wi-Fi, utilities included, no sneaky “program fees,” and a community that’s walked the walk.
Many of our staff are in long-term recovery. We get it because we’ve lived it. If you’re interested, check out the Admissions Process.
Why Covina Is the Perfect Distance from San Dimas
Our recovery community includes men and women from San Dimas, Glendora, Azusa, and beyond.
Whether you’re fresh out of treatment, looking for a safe landing after relapse, or finally ready to give this whole “sober life” thing a real shot, you’re welcome here.
The 210 freeway connects us in minutes. But what truly connects us is our shared purpose.
A Day in the Life
Morning: Wake up in a clean, quiet home. Sip your coffee, read something inspiring, and head out for work or a meeting.
Midday: Maybe it’s therapy, a class at Mt. SAC, or a shift at your new job. You’re making moves.
Evening: Come home, check in, share dinner with the house, and unwind with your recovery fam over some solid conversation (or maybe a little Netflix, we’re human, after all).
FAQ
What if I’ve relapsed before?
That doesn’t disqualify you. It just means you’re human. Many of our residents come in after one or more relapses. What matters is that you’re ready now.
Is this just for women?
No, we have two private homes for men and one for women. Our West Covina homes are safe and supportive for your unique experience.
Can I work while living here?
Absolutely. We encourage it. Most of our residents work or go to school while staying with us.
Do you require 12-step meetings?
We’re big believers in support. While we’re not officially tied to any one group, we highly encourage participation in AA, NA, SMART Recovery, and similar programs.
How do I apply?
Simple. Call us or fill out our online form. We’ll walk you through it all.
