Mission Statement
Puente House is designed to provide a much
needed structured living environment for men and women who
need to have strong guidelines for a disciplined life in order
to regain and maintain sobriety. For a fraction of the cost
of short intense therapy, the accepted model over the last
20 years, residents in the Puente House can have enough time
to learn or relearn the necessary life skills to live productively
in today's complex and demanding society.
Philosophy
The use of non-chemical coping skills, gainful
employment, education, and most importantly - ACTION! ACTION!
ACTION!!!! - is the basis of the Puente House Philosophy.
The 12 Step (AA, NA, CA, etc.) programs are heavily utilized
and provide the crucial foundation for the recovery process.
This positive and supportive structured environment is extremely
conducive for recovery from alcoholism and chemical dependency.

compliance

Advisors. This makes for a total of 11 staff members involved
in the management of the Puente House facilities.
Testing

is required as a condition of entering and remaining at Puente
House. Refusal or a failed test will result in immediate termination.
Court Referrals
Puente House is in full compliance with
the Community Based Punishment Act of 1994, New Penal Code
8052. This act strongly urges the Judicial Community to consider
alternative sentencing for Drug/Alcohol related offenses including
but not limited to treatment centers, residential recovery
homes, halfway houses and intensely supervised environments.
Puente House has been highly respected for the past 10 years
by all courts in the East San Gabriel Valley. Our staff is

Residents
Residents
come from all walks of life. The predominant sources of residents
come from 12 step programs, hospital programs, employee assistance
programs, courts and probation departments. Puente House requires
that all residents be nonviolent, well mannered, and demonstrate
a sincere desire to achieve a clean and sober lifestyle.
